4 out of 5 stars
This is the first book I have read by Elaine Viets. Helen is stuck in a dead end job in an exclusive clothing store. She lives paycheck to paycheck and avoids drawing any attention to herself. When she starts seeing suspicious activity around the store she doesn't want to believe, but when someone ends up dead she knows she's in the middle of something bad. The cops and looking at her, the exclusive clientele all have secrets, and Helen just wants to make it out alive.
It took me a little while to get into Shop Till You Drop, but the last 100 pages flew by. The book and the characters pick up momentum as it goes. There were some scenes and characters that seemed unnecessary to the plot that I thought slowed down the first half. I will definitely read the next book in the series though!
