I got my first official review! I knew before I ever wrote that not everyone would like what I had written. I knew I would get bad reviews and I prepared myself for it. But it was a good review. I wasn't ready for that! It sounds silly to say that but its the truth. I was not ready for someone to say they thought my book was "fresh and interesting." Wow, someone likes it! I'm so excited!

One day at a time

So my diet was not at all good today. Actually, it was bad. I had ice cream. I don't think there is anyway that ice cream is a part of a healthy diet. Tomorrow will be better though. Dieting is a one day at a time kind of a thing. So tomorrow will be better. That's the plan anyway.

Cooking

I have been cooking a lot recently. Made a really great Butternut Squash soup. Right now I am trying to figure out what I can cook this weekend. I want to make something seasonal. Maybe I'll make a cold soup.... My favorite cookbook at the moment is Bobby Deens' From Mama's Table to Mine. I love it. I have loved every single thing I have made from there.

Enjoying reading

So now that I am taking a small break from writing I am trying to catch up on my reading. I am almost done with Patricia Cornwell's Post Mortem. So far I have liked it. It is funny to read something that was written in the 1990s. There is so much that has changed since then with technology. Cell phones and internet are such a big part of our world today, but in the book the main character does not have a cell phone and her internet service is dial up. Technology has changed so much there is something really fascinating about getting to read something that is not that old, but is such a different world than ours now.

I am looking forward to the next book...I need to catch up on my Kathy Reichs!

Its official...The last editing is done. The book is in to the publisher, and in less than 24 hours it should be officially published. I'm so excited and scared at the same time. Here goes nothing...

finished editing!

So I finished editing Run. I am keeping myself from doing another read through because if I keep reading through it I will never stop editing it. Now I just have to go about the publishing process. AHHHH. Who could believe it!!! I'm days away from publishing my first book.
